 How To Check PF (Provident Fund) Account Balance Through SMS, Missed Call, And Website

The PF interest rate is decided every year by EPFO’s Central Board of Trustees (CBT) in consultation with the Ministry of Finance.

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) began crediting interest to provident fund (PF) accounts last month. The rate of interest on the PF account investment is 8.1% for the financial year 2021-22.

The PF interest rate is decided every year by EPFO's Central Board of Trustees (CBT) in consultation with the Ministry of Finance. This year, the interest rate was announced in June by the EPFO

Once the interest is credited, it will reflect in the PF account of the individual. One can check the provident fund account balance in multiple ways – via text message, missed call, UMANG app, and EPFO website.

Check PF account balance via SMS

Step – 1 Send a text message ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG' to 7738299899. The last three digits of the text message indicate the preferred language. Here, ENG means English. You can choose from a total of 10 languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Gujarati

Step – 2 Make sure that your mobile number is registered with the Universal Account Number (UAN).

Step – 3 The EPFO will send your last PF contribution, balance details, and available KYC (Know Your Customer) information to your mobile number through an SMS (Short Message/Messaging Service).

Check PF account balance via Missed call

Subscribers can also check their PF balance by giving a missed call to 011-22901406 from their UAN registered mobile number. An SMS will be sent to the same mobile number containing the balance details.

Check PF account balance via UMANG app

Step – 1 Download the app from the Google PlayStore or App Store and log in using your UAN and OTP.

Step – 2 Your PF account details will be displayed on the mobile screen.

Check PF account balance via EPFO website

Step – 1 Visit the official EPFO website and select ‘Our Services tab' .

Step – 2 Click on ‘For Employees'.

Step – 3 Select ‘Member Passbook' and enter your UAN and password to check your PF account balance.

It must be noted that those who are employed in more than one organisation will have to check their PF balance through different member IDs.
